Our Foundation has sought to expand the scope of our work to raise funds to award grants to promote innovation in instruction and leadership development in our schools. In creating an operating arm of our Foundation, we are now able to provide tangible support and encouragement for our teachers that directly benefits our students.
This expansion of our work mirrors established models in NWA and River Valley school districts to create a grant cycle that includes:
Written grant application and budget from a teacher
Endorsement from the building principal
Review by District administration to confirm requests are on-strategy
Review and approval recommendations by a foundation subcommittee
Final review and approval by the Foundation's Board of Directors
Raise $20,000 in new funds available to award in grants in the fall semester
Double the amount of grants awarded to teachers
